‘Recitation of Vande Mataram against Islam’
Muslim leaders and clerics reacted sharply to a reported decision by the Centre asking all schools to make their students recite the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram as part of the centenary celebrations of the National Song on September 7.
"Reciting Vande Mataram is against the tenets of the shariat (islamic law)," Zafaryab Jilani, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board(AIMPLB), said.
I mean.. WTF?
You live in India! Nation comes first, then your religion!
STUPID!

This hurts man, now they would go on one more step closer to host a paki flag over their homes because their book says so .Squeamish Politics thats all!
The objections raised by All India Muslim Personnel law Board over the National Song is that we say Vande Ma which means we worship and praise the Mother Ma, which contradicts to their preachings.
And the congress MP Dr. ___ went upto saying that they are opposed to compulsion of national song citing the religious reasons but they do want compulsary National Anthem.
If they consider the point made by some so called preachers of the religion, next people of states which arent used in National Anthem could go onto object its compulsion as it doesnt respect, mention, accept their state as the part of this Great Country.
The point is that India is the only country with a huge cultural diversity and yet a single thread , that being an Indian holds them together. There are about 4000 different languages spoken in our country and many religions followed in here.India as a democracy never disrespects or disrecongnize any religion or its people.India has been granting a safe , peaceful abode to hundreds of thousands of people whether they being from Tibet, Bangladesh or from Afghanistan.
We respect every religion , every language spoken and if not more we expect atleast a equal acceptance by countrymen. We dont object any of so called Fatwahs issued by ALL India Muslim Personnel Law Board in the name of
religion and yet they go on to mention the inclusion of National song singing by children for just one day in a year as Hindu Extremism .
It is quite clear at what end of a community extremism lies. Yet we endorse it and this is what seperates us from many around.
In the end i would just like to say that Children are divided into Hindu,Sikhs,Muslims,Christians,Jews and rest the day they are born, but when would these politicians let those innocent children be Indians.I mean this is what matters most to a true indian. The fact that the song is not compulsary
should not lead it to being optional in the near future, which i believe would be really a dangerous situation to this country already being divided due to Squeamish vote bank politics.
As an Indian , I respect the national sentiments and i believe the song should be sang with will full patriotism instead of some religious bias. The song refers to the Motherland and the Motherland is precious and to an atomost respect to every true indian.
I know i might be thought as a biased , relgious minded person but i'm not. I mean
Do we mind using the Islamic religious words in our hindi movies ?
No we dont, we go on and endorse them and accept them as much the part of our culture as any other religion .
Then why this debate over a National Issue when there are still a large amount of population of this country under major difficulties .Our Politicians do not get time to think about the poor farmers commiting suicide in various parts of India, but yeah they do get the time to debate over this issue.
They dont get the time to even rush to help the people of their own community (if they are so opposed to other communites) in times of calamities like recent floods.
This whole issue is
really a mockery to the sacrifices on the likes of Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose and Maulana Azad and many other freedome fighters who dreamt of a united india unbiased by their religions , castes or views.
In the end.I would like to say to those retards out their debating it "Vande Mataram " .
